Who we are looking for

Practitioners, managers and consultants, based in Europe, with deep smarts expertise in B2B services and servitization from diverse industry sectors, including machinery, engineering, machine tools, industrial or process automation, technology, component manufacturing, automotive, aerospace and defense, energy, utilities, infrastructure, facilities or technical services.

A background in as many as possible (generalists) or high level of expertise in at least one (specialists) of the following is important:

  • P&L responsibility for medium to large national or international service (including with pure play service providers) or after market operations of manufacturing, engineering or similar companies. Familiarity with strategy, business models and very good knowledge of the market environment and the opportunities and threats affecting major industries and players
  • Have led change or service transformations or operational improvement projects; Familiar with the process and tools of change management, BPR or lean management as applied to service operations
  • Experience in developing, coaching and mentoring managers and professionals
  • Specialist experience and skills in topics such as product support, warranty management, field service management, management of repair-shops and service workshops, reverse logistics, spare parts logistics and management, customer support, remote monitoring, pricing services and risk management, site and contract management, project management
  • Industrial asset management (as-a-service) and advanced maintenance methodologies (TPM, RCM, cyber-physical systems), tools (condition monitoring, prognostics) and systems
  • Sales, marketing and customer experience; Development, design and communication of service based offerings and value propositions, packaged services, product-service bundles and solutions; Design and optimization of customer journeys
  • Experience in developing customers, projects or major contracts, including pricing and risk management; Putting together, negotiating and closing major bids
  • Outcome based services and performance contracting; Designing Service Level Agreements
  • Energy services, infrastructure services, aerospace MRO; Plant maintenance outsourcing; Facilities Management
  • Technology, IIoT implementation, data analytics and digitization of business with emphasis on managing assets and the installed base
  • Concepts in the new economy: Sharing economy, circular economy, “everything-as-a-service”

Educated to degree level, you must have at least 15 years operating and/or consulting experience, of which a minimum of five years in a senior position and a strong track record. In addition:

  • Excellent analytical and methodological skills, strong familiarity with modern management thinking, methods and tools
  • Good understanding of services and servitization, service design thinking and service economics; Service financials and management accounting; Cost and value drivers
  • Very good presentation and communication skills; A business developer and rainmaker
  • Experience in solving problems for business, presenting, persuading and consulting at top level. Must have managed large client assignments
  • With a high level of credibility and integrity you must be able to contribute to and shape the service debate through research, writing, teaching and presenting
